Claim and CC

A claim is the role and action history a player says they have. CC means counterclaim: another player asserts a role or slot that competes with the first claim. A counterclaim is only mechanically decisive when the setup cannot legally contain both stories.

VFR and pressure

VFR means Vote for Role. Players use votes to force a role claim from an unclaimed slot, then back off or continue depending on the answer. Pressure is broader: any question or wagon intended to make a player commit to testable information.

Scumread, townread and POE

A scumread is a behavioral or strategic suspicion; a townread is the opposite. POE—process of elimination—narrows suspects by removing players with stronger confirmation. Reads are not the same thing as mechanical results.

Parity and kingmaker

Parity describes a state where an evil faction controls enough votes or kills to prevent Town from recovering. A kingmaker is a player, often neutral, whose choice effectively decides which faction wins even if that player’s own objective differs.

Bus, sheep and tunnel

To bus is to push or vote a teammate, often for credibility. To sheep is to follow another player’s read without adding independent reasoning. To tunnel is to stay fixed on one target despite new information that should reopen the analysis.

Visit, roleblock, transport and control

A visit is movement caused by many active night abilities. A roleblock prevents an action; transport swaps action destinations; control redirects another player’s target. These terms describe different mechanics and should not be used interchangeably when resolving a night.
